Cliff Warner

Rector

Cliff has been Rector of Christ Church since moving to Austin in 2006 with his wife, Christine, and four children. Before coming to Austin, he was Pastor of Community and Mission and founder of Ciudad Nueva Community Outreach, an urban mission in downtown El Paso, TX. Before serving on the U.S.-Mexico border, Cliff completed theological studies at Regent College, served migrant farmers and prison inmates, and worked in a church small group ministry and on staff with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at the University of Texas. He is excited to be back in the city of Austin and near UT where he discovered his call to ministry, fell in love with his wife, and grew into abiding love with Jesus. Cliff enjoys the Austin outdoors, kayaking, running, hiking, reading, cooking, and the adventure of life with Christine, Brendan, Cormac, Skye and Bronwyn.


Peter Coelho

Associate Rector

Peter serves as Associate Rector at Christ Church. His responsibilities include general pastoral duties, working with small groups, and serving Christ Church’s young adult community. Peter moved to Austin in the fall of 2011 with his wife Shannon and daughter Lucy to join the Christ Church family. Originally from Vancouver, Peter completed theological studies at Regent College and communication studies at Simon Fraser University. Peter and Shannon were married in 2004 and spent their first two years of marriage living in Hiroshima, Japan, and they are excited to be continuing the adventure in Austin. Lucy was born early in 2011 and the newest addition to the Coelho family, Emmett, was born in 2013.


Brian Murphy

Executive Pastor

Brian joined the Christ Church staff as Executive Pastor in 2011, when he moved to Austin from the State of New York. He has received a degree in History, a Masters of Arts and Religion from Redeemer Seminary, and a Masters of Arts in Education from Cortland State University. After graduation, Brian taught and coached in public high school followed by five years as the Vice President for Enrollment Management at Davis College. He is a candidate for ordination in the Anglican Church. Brian enjoys every good thing that Austin has to offer with the love of his life, Tamara, and their four children – Andrew, Alex, Kendra and Natalie.


Bryan Brown

Worship Pastor

Bryan has served as Worship Pastor of Christ Church since January 2007. Raised in Austin, Bryan attended the University of Texas at Austin where he studied Studio Art, Graphic Design, and Serigraphy. After serving for two years on the staff of Hope in the City Church in Austin, Bryan studied theology at Trinity School for Ministry outside Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and received his Master of Divinity in 2005. Bryan and his wife Rachel were married shortly thereafter and returned to Austin to reconnect with the vibrant community of faith in the city. They have three daughters: Beatrice, Leona, and Harriet.


Jodi Wicker

Pastor of Connection and Community

Jodi has served as the Pastor of Connection and Community at Christ Church since October of 2008. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Tech, and worked as a Registered Nurse in Austin for several years while serving on InterVarsity Volunteer Staff with Nurses Christian Fellowship (NCF) at Texas Tech and the University of Texas. After receiving her Masters Degree in Arts, Theology and Spiritual Formation from Regent College, she returned to Austin to serve in the Small Group Ministry and Arts Ministry at a local church for 6 years. Her work history includes higher education at UT, constituent correspondence for a state representative and the Speaker of the House, and Hospice Care. A native Austinite, Jodi is grateful to be rooted in the diverse, culturally vibrant city of Austin with her husband Patrick and daughter Sophia, where good theatre, dance, film and natural beauty abounds. She believes there is little life to be found outside of transparent, authentic community, and is looking forward to her family’s continued journey in service, faith and fellowship at Christ Church.


Bekah Powell

Director of Children's Ministry

Bekah joined the Christ Church staff in March, 2015. She serves Christ Church families by coordinating care, discipleship, and community for children up to grade 6. She previously taught primary school at an orphanage in Northern Uganda, as well as in a private school in Marble Falls, where she discovered a calling and passion for working with children. She graduated with a BA in Professional Writing from Baylor University and has also worked as a project manager and writer in the tech world. Bekah is grateful to live near her family in the great city of Austin and enjoys running, tending her community garden plot, and spending time with people over a good cup of coffee.
